MIDDLEBURG, Fla. — An 11-year-old child was hit by a school bus in a Middleburg neighborhood on Friday morning, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
A Clay County Sheriff's Office spokesperson said deputies responded to the crash, which happened at the intersection of Pine Ridge Parkway and Creek Bluff Lane, just before 8 a.m.
According to a report from FHP, the incident occurred while the child was crossing Creek Bluff Lane on their electric scooter. FHP says the child collided with the left front of the school bus.
According to FHP, the child was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. FHP also reported that seven students were on the bus at the time of the incident, but none of them sustained any injuries.
