(Bismarck, ND) — State agriculture officials confirmed a new case of highly pathogenic avian flu in a commercial turkey flock in LaMoure County. This marks the sixth detection of bird flu in North Dakota this year. The discovery triggered an immediate suspension of all events where birds from different sources are brought together, such as poultry shows, swap meets and fairs in the affected county. Birds from the county are also restricted. The suspension will stay in place for 30 days and will be automatically lifted if no new cases are reported during that time.
