Anglers fishing in the waters of Loch Ard have been urged to dispose of their equipment after a dog suffered a horror injury after swallowing a discarded hook.
Kinlochard resident Katy Lamb’s cherished black Labrador Smoo was out for a walk on the banks of the loch on October 23 when he ingested the cast off hook.
It led to a trip to Katy’s local vets, before Smoo was eventually rushed to a specialist vets in Livingston for an emergency endoscopy.
Recalling the incident, Katy told the Observer: “I usually take him for a walk on the ridge on the north side of the loch and was heading up the road near my house when I noticed he wasn’t running after me like normal.
“He then comes running up with the fish hook down his throat and was yelping away; he had picked
