New Delhi, Oct 31 (UNI) The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Mayor of Delhi, Raja Iqbal Singh, of failing to honour a commitment made in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) House to provide streetlights to councillors.

Ankush Narang, the AAP’s Leader of Opposition in the MCD, has written to the Mayor, demanding the immediate distribution of the lights.

The controversy stems from a statement made by Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh during an October 14 House meeting.

According to Narang, the Mayor pledged to provide 50 streetlights to each councillor before the Diwali festival to help illuminate dark spots across the city. Narang claimed that despite the festive season having concluded, no streetlights have been distributed to any councillor.
