CHESTER, S.C. — A large police presence has been reported at the Chester Park School Complex. The schools located in the area are on lockdown.

This is happening along Lancaster Highway.

The Chester County Sheriff’s Office says they have multiple people detained. Deputies searched a school in the area and said there were no additional areas or people of concern within the school.

WCCB confirmed this is not an active shooter situation.

Parents and members of the community are being asked to avoid the area at this time. Authorities say school officials will contact parents about dismissals.
