With winter just around the corner, PennDOT is making sure drivers are staying safe out on the roadways.
Ben DeVore, Allegheny County maintenance manager for PennDOT, outlined how the department is preparing for the winter months, from maintenance on trucks to training operators. Advertisement
"Our operators will also be practicing their winter routes to make sure that they know all the different areas they need to cover and that they know any other routes that they may need to cover in an emergency," he said.
DeVore said staffing is not an issue right now. They currently have 134 positions with only a handful open.
