Producers in southeast Saskatchewan are looking back on a successful season as harvest is now essentially complete.
The final crop report of the year, issued Thursday by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture, shows yields in the region were above the 10-year average. According to the report, adequate soil moisture at seeding and timely rainfall throughout the season supported crop development.
Many producers described 2025 as an average or slightly above-average year.
Crop quality was a high point, with most crops grading in the top two categories. Spring cereal, winter wheat, mustard, and chickpea crops in the southeast yielded higher than the provincial average.
Livestock producers also saw strong results. Silage yields were the highest in the province, averaging 8.5 tons per acre
