It's a matter of "when" Supernatural season 16 happens, not "if," and while the Winchester brothers returning to screens would be widely celebrated, it's worth remembering that Supernatural 's later seasons are often compared unfavorably against the first five.

Some of those criticisms Supernatural season 16 simply can't address. For instance, it's impossible to return to a time when Supernatural was a straightforward monster-of-the-week series and the Winchesters weren't best friends with God. Other problems with Supernatural 's latter seasons, however, have already been resolved before season 16 even gets officially confirmed.
