Metro Vancouver Transit Police have arrested a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a teenage girl at a bus stop in Surrey this summer.
On June 28, at about 9 p.m., a man in his late 30s approached the girl, who was waiting for a bus at Scottsdale Exchange in Surrey, according to police.
Police allege the man engaged her in conversation and then tried to kiss her, despite her telling him that she was only 16 years old.
He then is alleged to have grabbed her buttocks before pulling her into his lap and exposing his genitals to her, police said.
Two other women in the bus loop noticed the commotion and confronted the man. Police say he then fled.
On Oct. 16, the man was arrested and released with conditions not to attend the Scottsdale Bus Exchange, pending his court appearance.
