JAMES CITY — A James City County man suspected of being involved in an August shooting was arrested in Delaware on Monday, police said.
Devante Gregory Lewis, 28, was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals for extradition back to the county. Lewis is alleged to have shot another 28-year-old man several times at a county apartment complex in the 4900 block of Grand Strand Drive on Aug. 16.
James City County police Devante Gregory Lewis Police said the two men knew each other and had an altercation prior to the shooting. Upon his return, Lewis will be charged with aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, a news release said.
