The most-watched horror movies during Halloween over the past five years have been revealed in a new report. Since the late 1970s, significantly boosted by the release of John Carpenter's 1978 classic Halloween , it's become a widespread yearly tradition for audiences to watch horror movies during the month of October in the lead-up to, and on Halloween on October 31.

According to Nielsen's special Halloween report (via Variety ) tracking October horror movie viewership since 2021, M3GAN 2.0 was the most-watched horror movie on TV this year during the week of October 1–7 , racking up 115 million minutes viewed on Peacock.
