LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) — A semi-truck jackknifed in northeast Lincoln Friday afternoon, causing at least a hundred gallons of diesel fuel to spill into the roadway.
The crash, near the intersection of 84th Street and Leighton Avenue, has shutdown traffic in both directions on 84th from Leighton Avenue to Northern Lights Drive around 1:40 p.m., according to a 10/11 reporter on scene.
According to Lincoln Police Sgt. Tu Tran, there’s diesel spilled all over the road, and until the health department arrives, they won’t be able to clear the firetrucks.
Tran added the crash appears to be between a pickup and semi-truck, which is still jackknifed in the road.
Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews are attempting to dig dirt out of the ditch to block fuel from running further down the road.
