Congratulations to Red Lion Christian Academy, winner of the Delaware Online poll to determine the best Class 2A cheerleading squad in Delaware high school football.

The Lions received 46.6 percent of more than 131,000 votes cast to top a field of 16 squads. Saint Mark’s finished second, with Archmere coming in third.

All three squads will advance to the final round of voting in November, when they will go against the best from Class 1A and Class 3A to determine the overall champion.

Voting to select the best cheerleading squad in Class 3A will begin Monday, Nov. 3 and run through midnight Thursday, Nov. 6. The schools involved will be Appoquinimink, Caesar Rodney, Cape Henlopen, Caravel, Dover, Hodgson, Middletown, Padua (Salesianum), St. Georges, Smyrna, Sussex Central and William Pen
