Central New York’s Halloween forecast is shaping up to be more of a trick than a treat, with a mix of rain, wind, and even a few snowflakes in the cards. After a late-summer drought, Mother Nature is making up for lost time — another soaking and a blast of strong winds are on the way.
The heaviest rain has already moved out, but more showers will stick around through Friday, adding up to about another half inch for most. Higher spots across the Tug Hill could see over an inch, and as colder air rushes in Friday evening, those rainy drops may turn to wet snow at the highest elevations. Lake Ontario will also stir up a few wind-driven showers as the storm system pulls away.
