A relief drive to help hurricane-ravaged Jamaica is getting underway in Delaware.

Organized by the Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce of the Northeast , "Unity Days" are being held each Saturday in November in an industrial park off Boulden Boulevard near New Castle. Donations are gratefully accepted, but the events are also about building connections.

CACCNE founder and CEO Lexi Whilby, of Wilmington, is a first-generation American with family in Jamaica.

"It's very, very bad right now in certain areas of the island," Whilby said.

Non-perishable food items, bottled water, bedding, hygiene items, baby care products, cleaning supplies or supplies for first-aid kits are being collected Saturdays between 9:00 a.m. and noon at 77 McCullough Drive.
