With the federal government shutdown set to cross the one-month mark on Saturday, and with no visible end in sight, millions of Americans have felt the pinch of the end of key services.

Food aid

As soon as Saturday, 42 million Americans, including 1.1 million people in Massachusetts, could lose benefits under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP.
