A fundraiser supporting local arts education starts soon at Gallery in the Grove.
The annual Gifts of the Season show and sale starts Nov. 8, featuring 13 local artists and artisans, with proceeds from sales supporting art education and post-secondary scholarship programs through the volunteer-run Bright’s Grove art gallery, said show co-chair Holly Rutherford.

A Visiting Artists in Schools program provides art instruction to sixth graders in Sarnia-Lambton, and the 60-member volunteer gallery awards five $1,000 scholarships annually to students studying art in post-secondary school, she said.
The fundraiser Rutherford estimated has been running more than 15 years raises enough each year “to help supplement both programs,” she said.
