President Donald Trump on Friday proudly showed off the latest project in his inside-and-out remodel of the White House — as critics slammed him as "tone deaf" for touting glitzy renovations during the costly government shutdown .

Trump shared two dozen photos of the newly refurbished bathroom, which is now covered from floor to ceiling with what he described as "black and white polished Statuary marble."

"This was very appropriate for the time of Abraham Lincoln and, in fact, could be the marble that was originally there!" Trump wrote in one of seven Truth Social posts containing photos of the renovation.
