PITTSBURGH, Pa. (BLACK AND GOLD NATION) - Steelers safety DeShon Elliott is officially heading to Injured Reserve due to his hyperextended knee. Elliott is set to miss at least the next four games.
The Texas product was carted off the field during Sunday's loss to Green Bay. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said on Tuesday that it's fair to categorize Elliott's recovery timeline as week-to-week.
"I didn't have any preconceived notions, so I just have learned over the years to wait on clarity from the medical experts," Tomlin said.
Elliott is third on the team in tackles with 38 and also has one sack, one interception, one forced fumble and a tackle for loss. Elliott has already missed two weeks this season after suffering an MCL sprain in Week 1.
