Ten years ago my husband and I built our forever home in Providence. We had no idea that in an instant the safety and security we have always appreciated here would be stripped from our lives. Last week our neighborhood was notified that a drug recovery residence was coming soon. Providence city law states that four unrelated persons can reside in a home zoned for single families. The owner of this home is asking permission for 12-20 drug addicts plus employees to reside in the home across from our elementary school bus stop. The law also states that the owner must live in the home, but let’s be realistic. He’s not moving his wife and children there.
