EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — Officials say the timeline for partial completion of the sinkhole repair project at Riverside Drive and Chestnut Street has been pushed back.
Officials had initially said they expected to restore partial traffic flow around the end of October, but that timeline has been delayed.
Evansville Water and Sewer Utility officials say work is still underway and hope to reopen the intersection to traffic as soon as possible.
"Despite rain earlier this week, progress is being made and repairs are continuing at Riverside Dr and Chestnut. The goal is to have bidirectional traffic flowing on Riverside Drive as soon as possible," a statement from EWSU says.
