NEEDHAM, Mass. —
A former Stoughton police officer is going on the attack before the state's police oversight board in an attempt to clear his name.
The case revolves around the death of Sandra Birchmore, the pregnant 23-year-old who was found dead in her Canton apartment in 2021. She had been part of a Stoughton Police Department program directed by Robert Devine.
Now, Devine is facing discipline over his involvement with Birchmore.
Video released Friday of Devine's hearing before a police oversight board reveals statements that he made about Birchmore.
"She pretty much lied about everything there was to lie about," he said.
Former officer Matthew Farwell is charged with killing Birchmore and her unborn child after allegedly having a sexual relationship with her.
