Tom Daley is reflecting on swimming through uncharted waters.

The former Olympic diver shared insight into the early days of his professional diving career, including how outside pressure led him to struggle with an eating disorder and body dysmorphia during his 2011 competition season.

“I realized that people within British diving were looking at me as not just a diver, but also what I actually looked like,” Tom, 31, told Radio Times in an interview published on Oct. 27. “I got told I was overweight.”
