A close-knit outback community has celebrated the graduation of its only year 12 student.

Sea Sokra'a was born in New Zealand to Fijian parents and was just three years old when her family moved to Leinster, in 2011.

She was the only year 12 student enrolled at Leinster Community School, about 950 kilometres north-east of Perth in Western Australia's Northern Goldfields, and completed her studies online with the School of Isolated and Distance Education (SIDE).

The 17-year-old's graduation this week came two years after her older brother Sherman Sokra'a, graduated in a class of just three students.

"I've grown up here my whole life … this feels like I've come into a full circle moment," Sea Sokra'a told the ABC.
