Bakersfield Police Chief Greg Terry will retire from the department next year.
The Bakersfield Police Department announced Terry’s upcoming retirement on social media on Friday.
Driving the news: Terry’s law enforcement career began in Lafayette, Louisiana – his hometown – in 1990. • The Bakersfield Police Department hired Terry in 1997, where he has worked since in roles including Patrol, the Special Enforcement Unit, Investigations, Public Information Office and Internal Affairs. • Terry was promoted to Assistant Chief in 2017, where he oversaw the Operations, Investigations and Support Services Divisions.
