An alleged Islamic State supporter ‘pledged allegiance to death’ days before he is said to have planned to receive machine guns to use in a terror attack against the Jewish community, a trial has heard.

Today (October 31), jurors were told that Walid Saadaoui was caught 'red-handed' with an arsenal of weapons by counter terror cops when officers swooped on a car park in Bolton on May 8, 2024.

The 38-year-old, of Crankwood Road, Abram, Wigan, and his co-accused, Amar Hussein, 52, of no fixed abode, deny terror charges.

Mr Saadaoui’s brother Bilel Saadaoui denies failing to disclose acts of terrorism. The trio are standing trial at Preston Crown Court.
