LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — Cremated human remains found in the desert will be interred at a downtown Las Vegas mortuary, officials said.
Human remains were found near Searchlight , just over 55 miles southeast of Las Vegas, on U.S. 95 in August. Officials from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) confirmed the discovery at that time.
A Palm Mortuary official told FOX5 the Palm Downtown Mortuary & Cemetery location would lay the remains, which were discovered in 315 separate piles, to rest.
BLM officials were unable to share details, but did confirm the investigation.
