Edmonton police say an 18-year-old man is in hospital following a fiery collision on Anthony Henday Drive on Friday morning.
EPS responded to reports of a collision around 2:41 a.m. on the Anthony Henday near 184 Street.
Reports indicate that a white Mitsubishi Lancer had struck the pillars of the overpass of 184 Street before it caught fire.
A road maintenance worker came upon the crash and was able to put the fire out with a fire extinguisher before Edmonton Fire Rescue Services arrived and extracted the man from the vehicle.
He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he remains in critical but stable condition.
