Maricopa County prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty against the man accused of murdering a beloved New River pastor in April as part of a larger plot targeting more than a dozen Christian leaders.
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office identified the man accused of killing 76-year-old William Schonemann, who was locally known as "Pastor Bill," as 51-year-old Adam Sheafe. Investigators believe the slaying was both random and religiously motivated.
