Guilford County Rep. Cecil Brockman has resigned from the NC General Assembly, according to the chief of staff and a state representative.

Brockman, who faces multiple sex crime charges for his alleged involvement with a 15-year-old, is currently being held at the Guilford County jail.

The 41-year-old lawmaker was arrested for several offenses in early October, including two counts of statutory sex offense with a child 15 or younger and two counts of indecent liberties with a child.
