LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. — A Loudoun County school bus driver is facing charges after he allegedly struck a young person.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office charged Allen Jackson, 68, of Sterling with simple assault and battery, a Class 1 misdemeanor.

The school bus Jackson was driving was assigned to Potowmack Elementary School on Oct. 23.

Neither the alleged victim's age, nor the degree of the injury, have been disclosed.

The incident was reported to a resource officer on Oct. 24.

Jackson was released on a summons to appear in court.

The Loudoun County school district has not indicated what kind of disciplinary measures Jackson might face – if any.
