WASHINGTON — After nearly 30 years, and a couple of moves , Miss Pixie's Furnishings and Whatnot closed its doors for good on Friday.
Owner Pixie Windsor has been selling vintage furniture in the Adams Morgan neighborhood, and 14th Street, since 1997. Windsor says her time in Adams Morgan has been lovely.
"It's a wonderful community. We've had community events, I know people whose kids are now in college, and are now buying their own furniture from me, lots of wonderful things... We've done events for different artists and things like that," Windsor said.
Buying furniture at auction has been something Windsor's family has done since she was a child.
"I grew up on the Eastern Shore on a dairy farm and I would go to auctions with my aunt," Windsor said. "I realized people bought furnit
