OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - An employee at a Walmart in Beatrice played a role in helping to save a woman allegedly being held against her will this week.

The Gage County Sheriff’s Office arrested Justis Barnhouse, 31, after an employee at Walmart alerted authorities that a woman said she had allegedly been held against her will for two days, and that she had been strangled several times on Tuesday afternoon.

The woman and Barnhouse were at Walmart, where she got the attention of an employee, who asked her to follow to the bathroom so she could tell the employee about the situation, according to authorities.

Barnhouse was booked into Gage County Jail for assault by strangulation and 3rd-degree domestic assault, with two priors.

A court date was not available as of Friday afternoon.
