INDIANAPOLIS -- Pacers forward Obi Toppin will have surgery Monday to place a screw in the fifth metatarsal bone in his right foot and will be out until at least Feb. 1, coach Rick Carlisle said in his pre-game press conference on Friday.
Toppin was removed from Sunday's game against the Timberwolves in Minnesota and Carlisle initially said the injury was a hamstring, but he was listed as out on the injury report for Wednesday's game against the Mavericks in Dallas with a stress reaction in his right foot.
Toppin is one of seven Pacers players who will be out for Friday's game against the Hawks as Indiana has been crushed by injuries this season. However, Toppin's injury becomes the second-most serious in terms of likely time missed behind All-Star point guard Tyrese Haliburton, who
