YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) - The Youngstown Tower's air traffic controllers are among the federal employees who are feeling the impact of the government shutdown.
"They're consummate professionals--we felt, if anybody should be getting paid, it should be them," said Robert Griffin, co-director of the Ernie Hall Aviation Museum.
Members of the Ernie Hall Aviation Museum and the Ernie Hall Chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association are giving back to the Youngstown Tower's air traffic controllers, giving each of the 20 controllers who work at the tower a $100 Walmart gift card.
"For them to come over and just think of us was very generous--we're very thankful," said air traffic controller Michelle Long.
