MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – Town of Mount Pleasant officials gathered Friday afternoon to dedicate the town hall gymnasium to resident and national sports commentator Debbie Antonelli.

In May, the town surprised longtime basketball analyst and Special Olympics champion Antonelli by announcing that they would name the gym after her.

On Friday, officials unveiled “The Deb.” Antonelli explained that she was overwhelmed with the love and support from that town, and at the same time hopes her name will inspire young girls to love the game of basketball.
