Spectators dressed up as their favourite characters from the world of fiction with the TV series Squid Game having a major influence on costume choices.

Visitors travelled from as far away as America, Canada and Australia to watch the main parade on Friday night.

Tourists from Spain, Italy and Germany were also among the hoards of people who filled the city centre.

It’s believed 100,000 people from all over the world have been in the maiden city this week for the world-famous celebrations.

The parade began at 7pm before people flocked to the banks of the River Foyle in time to see the firework finale at 8.15pm.

Bedazzled observers were dressed for the occasion with cult classics such as Hocus Pocus and Beetlejuice represented.
