CINCINNATI —
Ohio parents are being warned to double-check their children's Halloween candy due to a rise in accidental THC exposures among young kids, as unregulated products resembling familiar treats remain on store shelves.
Dr. Shan Yin, director of the Ohio Drug and Poison Center, highlighted the alarming increase in cases. "We've seen dramatic rises in the number of children exposed to these products, to THC in general," he said. He noted that more children are arriving at hospitals with symptoms ranging from being spaced out to completely comatose. Advertisement
Ohio data reveals a steep increase in THC exposure cases, with 196 cases in 2018 compared to over a thousand last year. Among children younger than five, there has been an increase of more than 1100%, from 47 to 582 case
