GHENT, WV (WVNS) -- The Teal Pumpkin Project is an effort to make Halloween trick-or-treating fun for all kiddos.

So, for those kids who have various food allergies, finding a painted teal pumpkin on someone's front porch means everything given by that house is safe for them.

There are tons of ideas for non-food trick-or-treat favors, small toys, like fidget poppers or slinkies, spider rings, glow sticks or other glow accessories, and more.

Children can also carry a teal pumpkin candy bucket as well to show that they have a food allergy.
