PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (WPVI) -- "Victory in Philly" is the initiative of local basketball enthusiast, Mike Morak, to teach kids how to shoot for success.

Their free basketball camps provide them with opportunities to hone their skills and find a hobby that could improve their futures.

Each student goes home with a free basketball, something they can use to continue practicing, or give to someone in their neighborhood to pass it forward.

"I hope in the next couple of weeks...the Spalding basketballs are bouncing around the city of Philadelphia. And I think that's what the win is," said Morak.

Philadelphia City Council President Kenyatta Johnson was present to boost the kids' spirits and support the mission.
