MCKINLEY COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – McKinley County District Attorney Bernadine Martin will not be able to delay the process to remove her from office, any longer. The New Mexico Supreme Court on Friday denied Martin's request for more time to turn over evidence, since the court is set to hear arguments on her removal in 30 days.

New Mexico Attorney General Raúl Torrez plans to prove Martin is incompetent, using that evidence, specifically every case she's dismissed and ones she declined or failed to prosecute.

Torrez filed a petition to remove Martin from office in August, after KRQE Investigates uncovered that DA Martin dismissed two major criminal cases against an accused rapist and an accused murderer, which she promised to refile, but never did.
