FARGO — Tied at eight and pinned back at its own 3-yard line nearly midway through the third quarter, Breckenridge football coach Carson Yaggie decided to dial up a pass.

Facing a second-and-nine, Cowboys quarterback Riley Kappes found receiver Cooper Roberts streaking down the right sideline in double coverage. Roberts used his 6-foot-5 frame to haul in the catch and then won the foot race to the end zone to flip the field for a 97-yard touchdown.

The play gave Breckenridge a lead it never surrendered, going on to defeat Parkers Prairie 29-14 in the Minnesota Section 6, Class A championship game Friday at the Fargodome.

Roberts, a senior, finished the game with five receptions for 190 yards and two touchdowns.
