PRICEVILLE, Ala. - Morgan County Schools are taking proactive steps to enhance safety by introducing new portable automated external defibrillators (AEDs) across their campuses. These devices are part of a broader effort to comply with a new state law requiring schools to have portable AEDs at athletic events.
Morgan County Schools received state funding to purchase 27 Avive AEDs. These devices weigh just over two pounds, feature rechargeable batteries, and boast updated technology. Tracie Turrentine, Morgan County Schools Superintendent, emphasized the importance of these upgrades, saying, "When we're talking about someone's life, time is the most important thing."
The Avive AEDs are designed to notify first responders immediately upon activation.
