COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio human resources officials sent thousands of state employees Friday afternoon a letter giving a 14-day warning of potential furloughs due to the prolonged federal government shutdown, the Ohio Department of Administrative Services said.

The Ohio Department of Administrative Services, which runs state human resources, said in a statement that employees at six agencies received letters: The Ohio Adjutant General’s Department, the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities, the Ohio Department of Health, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and the Ohio Department of Public Safety.
