HARTFORD, Conn. — In Connecticut and across the country, Halloween is one of the most dangerous nights of the year.
Amy Watkins, director of Safe Kids Connecticut and Watch for Me CT, says it’s the one night where children are twice as likely to get hit by a car.
She added that since it’s dark outside, kids should wear bright colors or have glow sticks.
Watkins also says drivers have to be aware, especially on Halloween because kids are out everywhere.

“So, it's on drivers to really drive very slowly and keep their eyes open for kids and realize that many might be wearing dark costumes. That's the season, and so not everybody will have the reflectors or the flashlight so to drive slow,” Watkins sai
