A 10-year-old boy is in hospital after been "partially impaled" on garden railings in a Liverpool suburb this afternoon (October 31).

Emergency services, including police, paramedics and firefighters, were called to Wadeson Road in Walton at around 3.25pm, the Liverpool Echo reported.

There had been reports that a child had been injured in an accident involving his bicycle.

When the ECHO arrived at the scene, a cordon was in place at the junction of Wadeson Road and Frampton Road. According to residents, the boy was riding around a corner when he appeared to lose control of his bike and fell onto a garden fence.
