LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - As the sun inched higher in the sky, event organizers wiped the morning dew off the white cushioned chairs in front of the new Crying Eagle Brewing on the lakefront.
Today, the Avery family cut the ribbon on their years-long passion project next to Port Wonder, marking what Lake Charles city leaders call a significant step in lakefront development.
Crying Eagle Brewing Company President Eric Avery said the project is bigger than just another spot to eat and drink.
“Crying Eagle Lakefront isn’t just a restaurant, it’s a spark for a stronger and more vibrant Lake Charles,” he said.
Mayor Marshall Simien agreed, saying that this is exactly what the city has been trying to do for decades.
