The Miami Dolphins have parted ways with general manager Chris Grier, the team announced Friday.
Grier, who joined the Dolphins organization in 2000, had served as the franchise’s general manager since 2016. His departure comes one day after the Dolphins lost to the Baltimore Ravens, 28-6, on “Thursday Night Football” to drop to 2-7 on the season.
“This morning, I made the decision along with general manager Chris Grier to mutually part ways,” Dolphins owner Stephen M. Ross said in a news release . “I have incredible respect for Chris and his family, and I want to thank him for his many contributions to the Miami Dolphins over the past 26 years.”
Dolphins senior personnel executive Champ Kelly will serve as interim GM, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter .
