DALLAS — The Dallas Mavericks announced Friday that forward/center Anthony Davis has been diagnosed with a low-grade left calf strain following an MRI.

Davis sustained the injury in the first quarter of Wednesday’s game against the Indiana Pacers and did not return. The team said he was held out for precautionary reasons.

According to the Mavericks, Davis will miss the team’s next two games and will be re-evaluated after the upcoming road trip. Davis traveled with the Mavs to Mexico City and attended practice ahead of Saturday's game.

The Mavs' front court was already thin with center Derek Lively II missing the last two games due to a sprained knee. Daniel Gafford sustained an ankle injury on the first day of training camp and has not suited up this season.
