A man died after being struck by a driver in Edina on Halloween evening.

Edina Police Department says the collision was reported around 7:15 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Morningside Road and France Avenue, close to the busy commercial district of France and 44th.

The 53-year-old man was taken with life-threatening injuries to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

France Avenue was closed from West 44th Street to Glendale Terrace while the Minnesota State Patrol was on the scene reconstruction the collision.

The intersection is close to Westgate Pet Clinic and France 44 liquor store and cheese shop.
